All five malts from the region’s three distilleries have been used to produce this Blended Malt. The character is unmistakably Campbeltown: Initial sweet, softer notes of fruit, honey and butterscotch give way to reveal more complexity with traditional maritime and spice notes combined with the subtlest touch of peat smoke.
46% ABV
Nose
Sweet and creamy from the outset, this blended malt is delicate on the nose with notes of butterscotch and honey to start. Fruity notes of apple and pear develop, combined with warm buttered toast.
Palate
The characteristic maritime influence of Campbeltown whisky is immediately prominent on the palate, with touches of brine and a slight saltiness reminiscent of rock pools and waves washing over a seashore on low tide. A peppery note develops over time, along with hints of spice and pretzels.
Finish
The coastal influence carries through to the finish in an oily note, combined with walnuts, vanilla pods and hints of sandalwood. The peppery note from the palate persists in the finish.
