Shetland Reel - Original (70cl, 43%)

Shetland Reel focussed on a recipe that includes apple mint, grown and harvested on Unst by Unst Market Garden.

They carried out product trials with many willing participants and our blind tastings revealed the recipe which stands above them all.  This became the original recipe Shetland Reel Gin. 

In 2015 this gin was awarded a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards. It also gained recognition at the Scottish Rural Awards gaining a Highly Commended trophy for Best Artisan Drink.

Known Botanicals – Juniper, coriander seed, orris root, cassia bark, citrus peel and apple mint - all grown on the island.
Serving Suggestions – Tonic, mint and grapefruit segments.
Tasting Notes – The nose is a hint of juniper with a subtle mix of spices and citrus. The initial palate is juniper, mixed spice, sweetness with a citrus tang and a refreshing hint of mint at the end. The finish is clean and fresh.
